Gwendal Le Grand, head of the assessment "Commision Nationale de l’Informatique et des libertés" (CNIL- French Data Agency)

- Head of the IT experts department at the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), the French data protection authority, since April 2007, represents the CNIL within the RFID expert group which was established by the European Commission in June 2007 to advise on the future “RFID privacy, data protection and security recommendation”.

- Member of the Technology Subgroup of the Article 29 Working Party, which tackles data protection issues related to technologies such as search engines, social networks, biometrics and RFID.

Former activities :

- Worked as an associate professor at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST), Paris, and participated in several european and national research projects in the areas of security and networking.

- PhD in computer science from the University of Paris 6 in July 2001, master’s degree from the ENST (1998) and graduated as a telecommunications engineer of the Institut National des Télécommunications, Evry, France, in 1997.
